$65,000 of pure luxury utility.

Kinja'd!!!

This is the only time I'll be okay with 22s on a truck.

There needs to be a darker silver/grey on the color pallet.

I'd want black side steps, which are an option on every trim level other than Denali.

So yeah, want is strong with this one.

I'd rather buy a Ram 1500 or F150 for $20k less.

Or you could pay the same for a 3500 HD and get the Duramax/Allison package and get 765 lb/ft and get great towing performance.

I could get a Silverado and Sierra for $20k less too.

But Denali.

I think the Sierra looks a lot better than the Silverado, although I think I'd max out at 20s. 22s are just a bit to big for me.

I just don't like how the standard rims (the only 20" available) look on the truck.

If there was a good looking pair of 20s, I'd do that.

I've managed to get a Silverado High Country to about $55k.

And the Denali actually gets better interior materials (real metal over plastic, nicer leather) over the Silverado.

So really it isn't.

2011 2500.

Something about the injector for the afterburn in the exhaust fucking up.

Two NOX sensors have had to be replaced.

Transmission control module going out.

A few others I can't remember off the top of my head.

It's a POS he should have them buy back IMO.

We have an '07 that was donated to the school because it was a GM buyback because the owner was having issues with the Duramax.

A $65k pickup is so outside the realm of vehicles I would ever see myself owning.

I have an old Grand Cherokee for the following purposes that my 135is does not fulfill:

- Driving in snow
- Having a back seat big enough for adult humans
- Carrying around more than 10 cubic feet of cargo
- Being super comfy with La-Z-Boy seats and room to spread out

The Grand Cherokee is not my primary vehicle, because like its seats, its handling is roughly equivalent to a La-Z-Boy recliner. But I like it for what it is, and for only costing me 4 grand.

I never really considered a pickup, because I have only 1 garage space and a pickup parked outside in the winter time needs a tonneau or bed topper if you want to avoid shoveling snow out of the bed all the time. Also, cheap old pickups that can be had for 4 grand don't have full-time 4wd like an old Jeep.

The times I have need for a pickup bed are approximately zero. If I were to get any kind of big, trucky vehicle, it would be an SUV, unless I unexpectedly found myself with a need to tow inordinately large items that only a heavy duty pickup can handle.

Kinja'd!!!0

Well it is "down the road" for that particular component, so we should see some issues arising. The cool part about it is, if any component failed, it automatically defaults to center and becomes a regular axle.

A very elegant and well-engineered design. Too well actually, because it was too damned expensive to produce

IIRC Delphi spent about 10 years in R&D with the product. If GM hadn't have been so gat dagged dumb about things they would've recovered the costs by now for sure. And we'd have more 4ws trucks on this planet.

I could rock it. Save the cash, buy the grille aftermarket, choose my own shocks wheels and tires and add a turbo. I probably would buy a base model extended cab anyway as I tell my wife it's a family vehicle.

Kinja'd!!! norskracer98-ExploringTheOutback > Logansteno: Bought a VW?
09/02/2014 at 17:27

Kinja'd!!!0

We'be had the NOX replaced bit that's an issue in the 2011's only. They managed to fix the issue in the 2012 and on trucks. The Duramax is still a good engine. It was an issue on the first DEF set up. Ours has around 38,000 miles on it and the two NOx sensors are the only issues to date.

I want a diesel but I'm not sure about RWD. I'll definitely consider it but the idea of a truck in the winter with no 4wd makes me nervous. I'm fine with rwd cars and wagons but a truck with a high center of gravity and no weight over the drive wheels seems kinda sketchy to me.

Personal preference, and my current DD is a RWD Silverado. It handles Minnesota winters with ease. It only gets squirrelly if I let it. The ground clearance is a benefit in snowfall. And the weight? Go to Home Depot they have 70lb bags of sand for placing over the axle. I use 4. But I'm not going to tell you not to get one with 4x4.

Yeah, you could, but they don't even really seem to try anymore. What did they do to the ageing engine and completely outclassed trans when they redesigned the truck? Nothing. It has become completely obvious that Chevy doesn't give a flying fuck anymore.
